Nostalgic Underground is basically an 'anything goes' sort of label. It isn't limited to just being an electronic label, an indie rock label or a hip-hop derivative label, it isn't even a 'nostalgic' label as our name suggests. Our tastes differ from one to the next. It doesn't matter, so long as we dig it. So with that we feel that this label will offer something for everyone. The label is obviously in it's nascent stages, but we believe it'll burgeon into something truly special. If you are interested in putting out a release on N.U.G. feel free to message us with a link or demo of your music.

We are pleased to announce that the second official ‘NUG’ release will come in the form of a compilation. The compilation will come filled with a variety of music that is accessible, difficult, pleasant, dreamy, poppy and mind altering! Contributions will come from those on already on the label and those that have some sort of association/ties with the label. Artists include Doc Deem, Clifford Forest, Connected View, Unicorn Blood, Li Xi, New Fast, Seabright, Dominga, Bengalfuel and many more. We are aiming for a July release which will of course be available to download via our bandcamp page.

Clifford Forest - “5 Fingers” (Demo)
Alas, Mr. Clifford Forest has finally graced us with a sound of some sort. He is said to be a busy man, with many creative endeavors, so we’ll have to excuse him for his tardiness. Any way, he gave us a rough demo (and artwork) of a track he titled “5 Fingers.” An ‘Eno-esque’ loopy, ambient number which sounds like it was done live, without any sort of editing. Hmm? I suppose the only editing was the conversion of cassette audio into WAV. or AIFF. file and the cutting of a field recording of what seems to be a classroom full of children learning how to count to 5. In any case, we love the ideas jotted down so far. It’s makes us excited to hear what it’ll sound like once more layers applied this minimalist cacophony.
